Who we are
Good gear, without the retail tax.
Nice Shot brings premium golf clubs from Japan to New Zealand. Better stock, honest grading, fair prices. Built by golfers who’d rather be on the course.
Why Japan?
Japan plays more golf per capita than just about anywhere on earth. Ranges everywhere, simulators in the train stations, a national obsession with the small-margin gain.
One side effect: the second-hand market is enormous, brutally well-graded, and full of clubs that have barely been hit. Japanese golfers baby their gear, upgrade fast, and trade through pro shops that grade condition like watch dealers.
Then there’s JDM, the Japanese Domestic Market: models from TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Mizuno, XXIO and Honma, tuned for Japan. Lighter shafts, finer head-weight tuning, grinds you’ll never see at NZ retail. All of it interesting if you care about gear.

What we actually do
Verified, not gambled
We’re plugged into pro shops and verified resellers across Japan. Every club is inspected and confirmed before it’s listed. No replicas, no auction-site sketchiness.
Photographed as-is
We photograph the exact club you’ll receive and grade its condition honestly. No surprise scuffs, no rounding up.
Priced fair
Not as cheap as a private Trade Me punt, we cover inspection, freight and customs. But materially cheaper than NZ retail, with access to JDM models you can’t get here at any price.
Premium clubs. Fair prices. No bullshit.
You shouldn’t have to pay full retail for marginal gains, or roll the dice on a private listing. You should be able to buy good gear from someone who plays the same game you do, and trust that the description matches the club. That’s the whole brand.
The team
Nice Shot is run out of New Zealand by golfers who’d rather be on the course. We answer emails fast, we’ll yarn about gear, and we’ll tell you when a club isn’t right for your swing. Built by people inside the culture, not outside it.
